When her partner writes the training plan: a triathlete on Tredict

Triathlete Lisa Kucziensky on her first sub-3 marathon in Frankfurt, how she built her success over years of consistency and patience, and why she has been using Tredict for around seven years. Her partner writes her training plans straight into her Tredict calendar.

Lisa is a successful triathlete and a long-time Tredict user, and she has already racked up plenty of top finishes at big, well-known races in northern Germany.

Not long ago, as a spectator, I saw Lisa out on the course, coming home first in the women's race over 16 kilometres (10 miles) at the Hamburg Airport Race 2026, in 1:04:11. She even had time for a greeting, with 6 kilometres still to go.

She also won the Wedel Half Marathon 2026 convincingly, clocking 1:26:41, well clear of second and third.

Things were no less competitive at the Hamburg Speicherstadtlauf 2025, where she again battled her way to the overall women's win over 10 km by a clear margin.

Her triathlon results are just as impressive, among them eighth overall in the women's field at the 2026 German Middle-Distance Championships and sixth at the 2023 OstseeMan.

Lisa is also actively involved with the 3Maniacs, the triathlon section of SV Großhansdorf.

This is the third instalment in our interview series with Tredict athletes and coaches from around the world.

Tredict powered athlete

Have a look at the second interview with Fabio Giudici from Lombardy, another "Tredict powered athlete".

I put a few questions to Lisa and asked her to tell us a little about herself.

Tell us a little about yourself, where you're from and what place endurance sport holds in your life.

"I did a lot of sport as a child and tried all sorts, but for a long time I never found the one that was right for me. I came to endurance sport fairly late, at around 20. Running in particular I actually found pretty awful at first. I kept at it anyway, because it was easy to fit around everyday life and I wanted to stay fit. But at some point it finally clicked.

I joined a triathlon club and was also active in various running clubs. Little by little, the sport took up more and more space in my life, and by now it's a huge part of my everyday routine. I share the hobby with my partner and friends, and I can no longer imagine life without sport."

What have been your personal highlights as an athlete, the ones you look back on fondly, and what's still to come?

"Definitely my first sub-3 marathon last October (Tredict's note: the 2025 Frankfurt Marathon). I'd been working towards it for a long time, and with real focus.

My first long-distance triathlon was something really special too. Looking ahead, I'd like to knock another minute or two off my marathon time and do another fast long-distance. Next year, though, I'd first like to dip my toe into trail running."

You've been using Tredict for quite a while now. How long has it been, and what made you stay?

"I've been using Tredict for about seven years now. I think it's great for structured planning and for keeping an overview. What I find especially helpful are the detailed analyses of performance and load and recovery. They help me plan my training, track how it's developing and adjust it when I need to."

Are you connected with athlete friends through Tredict, and how do you share and compare notes there?

"Yes, with my partner, for example. He writes my training plans and can leave notes or comments on the individual sessions right there. I, in turn, can add my own remarks. That way we have planning and feedback in one place, and we can also look back afterwards and see how a training session went."

Over the past few years you've managed to improve significantly and you're right up at the front now, sometimes taking the win. Can you let us in on one or two things that make that kind of progress possible?

"For me, consistency and patience are everything. Progress doesn't come from a single hard session, but over many months and years of consistently keeping at it.

There will always be bad patches and setbacks. The important thing is not to let them discourage you and to trust the process. Persistence usually pays off in the end. 🙂"
