This overview is for coaches who want to work with their athletes in Tredict. Two things are often not immediately clear at the start, namely how coach and athlete connect in the first place and how the pricing works. Alongside that, there is an overview of training plans and the public coach profile. You will also learn why Tredict suits clubs and mixed training groups particularly well.
Tredict is a training-planning and analysis platform for endurance athletes, triathletes and coaches. It is vendor-neutral, developed and operated in Germany, and belongs to no device manufacturer.
Since 2020, coaches and clubs have planned their endurance training with Tredict and used it to coach countless athletes without any trouble.
Connecting with your athletes as a coach
Right from the start, athletes can send you a request on Tredict and grant you access to their profile. Under the Connections category you will find your coach status and can switch it off if you would rather not receive any requests at all. In Tredict terms, you are already a coach the moment you gain access to someone else's profile, regardless of whether you actually do any coaching or are simply keeping an eye on what a friend is up to.
There are two ways to connect with your athletes. With the first, you share your email address and the athlete uses it to send you a coach request. Or, with the second, you hand out a request code, either as an invitation link or as a QR code for flyers and business cards. The request code lets an athlete reach you without your email address being visible beforehand. It is only revealed to the athlete once the connection has been made.
You accept the request, and from then on you have access to the profile. Either side can end the connection at any time.
Read access and write access
The athlete always decides for themselves whether to give you read access to their profile only or to grant write access as well.
Even with read access alone, you get a good insight into how an athlete trains. The analysis, the training calendar, the form curve, the body data and the equipment list are all visible and serve as a solid basis for discussing your approach in person.
With write access you can create structured workouts and complete training plans in your athlete's calendar and adjust their zone settings and capacities. This is the access you need for the training planning itself. You then use the athlete's profile as though it were your own, recognisable by the green-highlighted menu bar and the name of the selected athlete.
A few things are deliberately off-limits. You cannot delete or upload any of the athlete's device files and you cannot add equipment on their behalf, because these actions are irreversible and could distort their history. Nor can you see the athlete's personal account settings. Control over their own profile always stays with the athlete.

How the pricing works
The coaching feature itself costs you nothing. As a coach you can even write to an athlete's profile when your own profile only has read access. The only thing you ever pay for on Tredict is write access to your own profile, and that is prepaid rather than by subscription.
For you to write to an athlete's calendar, though, that athlete must first hold write access to their own profile. Write access is therefore tied to the athlete's profile, not to your coach profile.
Every newly registered athlete receives 2 months of write access for free after signing up. So for a short spell of coaching of up to two months, you can both get started completely free of charge.
After that, there are two routes to further write access.
- The athlete buys it themselves. That is always 12 months in advance, with no subscription and no automatic renewal.
- You assign write access to them from your own pool. The smallest unit you can assign is 3 months. Larger pools come with a volume discount.
You buy your pool under Write access to transfer and then simply assign it to your athletes from the athlete overview.
Read access always remains in place regardless, even without paid write access. An athlete therefore never loses their data and can carry on analysing it at any time.

Creating and applying training plans
With Tredict you build reusable training plans by power, heart rate, pace or cadence, whether by hand or with the help of AI and the Tredict MCP Server. What sets Tredict training plans apart is the relative intensity distribution. When you apply a plan, that distribution is automatically converted to each athlete's capacity. A plan target of 75% of maximum heart rate then becomes an absolute 135 bpm in the calendar for an athlete with an hrMax of 180 bpm.
Reusable training plans by power, heart rate, pace or cadence
As a coach you often work with several athletes at once. A Tredict training plan can therefore be applied to them all at the same time, which saves you a great deal of work. You apply private plans directly to your connected athletes, whilst published plans also appear in your public directory and can even be embedded on your own website.

You can read up on exactly how all this works here: Training plans in the Tredict glossary
You save recurring sessions as a template and simply pick them again when creating an activity, which saves you work when building a plan.
Messages
You stay in touch with your athletes through the messaging and chat function. Using the chat icon in the training detail view, you start a conversation directly on that session, so your notes on a workout stay separate from the rest of the training instructions.
Many manufacturers, ideal for clubs and groups
Tredict synchronises with a wide range of device manufacturers and services. It is precisely in a training group that Tredict plays to its strengths, because everyone there wears a different watch anyway. Whether there is a Garmin, Coros, Suunto, Polar or Wahoo on the wrist makes no difference to your work as a coach, because Tredict treats all manufacturers equally.
Integrations include Garmin, Coros, Suunto, Polar, Wahoo, Hammerhead, Zwift, icTrainer, Concept2, the Oura Ring and the Apple Watch via Watchletic, plus Dropbox and a personal API for your own scripts.
List of supported devices and platforms
This works in both directions. Planned workouts land automatically on your athletes' devices, among them Garmin, Coros, Suunto, Wahoo, Hammerhead, Zwift, icTrainer and the Apple Watch via Watchletic. And when an athlete changes brand, their history and their form curve simply come along, because Tredict keeps activities from every manufacturer in the same training calendar and calculates form from all of them.
Public coach profile and selling training plans
With the free public coach profile you promote your coaching. It is listed in the public coaches directory so that new athletes can find you more easily. On top of that, you can describe what you offer and add backlinks to your own website and your channels, which helps your visibility online.

You can sell the training plans you create through Tredict without paying any fees, or simply give them away for free. The only cost is the PayPal transaction fee, should your plans cost anything, and the invoice is issued in your name. You publish free plans under a Creative Commons licence. Publishing requires an activated coach profile, because the plan's author details are taken from it.

Partner API for companies and clubs
For companies, clubs and publishers that want to manage and bill many athletes themselves, there is also the Partner API. With it you connect users to your partner account in a privacy-compliant way and automatically assign them monthly write access and your training plans. Billing for the write access then runs through your partner account.

The European alternative to TrainingPeaks
If you are coming from TrainingPeaks, or simply comparing your options, in Tredict you will find the vendor-neutral, independent alternative from Europe. Summed up in four points.
- Freer. No lock-in. You have access to your data at any time, through the OAuth2 API, the Personal API, Dropbox sync or as a .fit file. You subscribe to your training calendar in your calendar software, and you delete your account completely with a single click.
- More flexible. Many device manufacturers are treated equally, the zone and capacity values are date-based, and connecting AI assistants through the Tredict MCP Server comes at no extra cost.
- Cheaper. Prepaid rather than a subscription, the coaching feature is free, and Tredict charges no fees on the sale of training plans.
- European. Tredict runs on its own servers in Germany and Austria, works in a GDPR-compliant way, is owner-run and belongs to no device manufacturer.

Getting started
Simply share your email address or hand out your request code and connect with your athletes. For a short spell of coaching, the athletes' free months are enough. For a longer collaboration, you assign write access from your pool or the athlete buys it themselves. And with an entry in the free coaches directory, new athletes can find you directly.
