Environment and Weather

The environment and weather have a significant influence on mental and physical performance during outdoor training. The relationship between weather that is perceived as good and a high fun factor in endurance sports is clear.

For absolute peak performance, colder temperatures are advantageous to prevent overheating.
Long endurance sessions and low-intensity workouts benefit from moderate temperatures.
High temperatures can be useful in training, but are disadvantageous in a competition.

Wind has a strong influence on performance when running or cycling. Headwind is perceived very consciously, whereas tailwind is hardly ever perceived. For running there are footpods with built-in wind sensors that can measure the wind factor and are supported by Tredict.
